Clive Davis has denied that he is making a biopic on the late Whitney Houston.

It was reported at the weekend that Davis was hoping to pay tribute to his protegee by making a big-screen adaptation of her life "as soon as possible".

Rihanna, Jennifer Hudson, Vivica A Fox, Jordin Sparks and Brandy were said to be in the running to play Houston, while Willow Smith had apparently been approached to portray her as a child.

However, a representative for Davis has since denied that any movie is being developed.

"There is no truth to this," the spokesperson said to Gossip Cop. "Clive is not putting together a biopic."

Davis, a longtime friend and colleague of Houston, was one of the celebrity speakers at Houston's funeral in New Jersey held on February 18. Kevin Costner and Tyler Perry also paid tribute, while Alicia Keys, R Kelly and Stevie Wonder performed.

Houston passed away at the age of 48 on February 11.
