Sony/ATV Music Publishing LLC, a joint venture between Sony Corp. and the Michael Jackson estate, held talks to buy Warner Music Group Corp.’s publishing arm last year, the Daily Telegraph said, without citing anyone.

Sony/ATV’s approach to buy Warner Chappell, which controls recordings from acts including the Bee Gees and Fleetwood Mac, emerged after reports this week of another bid from private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, the newspaper said.
